Nature-grounded Sensory Play

Sensory Garden was started by Liana in order to provide opportunities for children to explore natural materials and their senses while encouraging curiosity, communication and exploration of a variety of sensory materials that can be found in nature.

Each activity is based on the season and your interests and will be sure to amaze and excite both children and adults!

“Working with children, creating meaningful and engaging learning activities and sparking curiosity is what motivates me. Throughout my career, I have focused on the importance of child-centered learning, and supporting exploration and risk taking. I have always created sensory activities for my children and wanted to explore if these types of sensory experiences were available to other children. I found that although there are a variety of companies providing activities for birthday parties and gatherings, it was difficult to find ones which focus on using natural resources as their primary element. Each activity is thoughtfully created in order to promote fine motor development, exploration, curiosity and a sense of calm. It also allows children to experience natural elements up close and in a way they might not have seen before. Having this approach allows children to experience a little bit of nature within their own homes and backyards and create a new understanding of the world around them. Although many of my teaching experiences have taken place in a typical classroom, the most impactful and MAGICAL lessons have taken place outside in a natural setting.”
